State police at Philipsburg
- An incident of burglary occurred sometime Aug. 24-30 at a Dale Road residence in Rush Township. During the incident, someone allegedly entered the victim’s residence and removed seven long guns. The total value of the guns is $3,025, state police said.
Curwensville Borough
- Police received a complaint about a barking dog on Monday. Further, police contacted animal control about the complaint.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of harassment by communications.
- Police received a report about a tobacco violation at the school. Police would like parents to warn their children who are not permitted to possess tobacco products on school property. Students who are found in violation will be issued citations.
- Police assisted a motorist on Hill Street on Tuesday.
- Police would like to warn residents about a scam. Further, a female with poor English called the victim and requested to collect money owed to the IRS. The caller also told the resident failure to comply would result in police response. Police advise residents to neither respond to such calls, nor to provide any personal information. It was also noted that anyone with IRS debt will receive mailings.
- Police received a report about a male who was allegedly in a white sheet running around and yelling racial remarks Tuesday in the area of State and Filbert streets.
DuBois City
- While on patrol Monday, police observed a female who fitted the description of one wanted by the Clearfield County Sheriff’s Office. Upon making contact with her, police determined she was wanted and there were multiple warrants for her arrest. She was taken into custody and turned over to deputies.
- On Monday, police received a report about an alleged incident of theft in the 600 block of Liberty Boulevard. Further, police learned an employee had allegedly stolen money from the business. The investigation is continuing with charges pending, police said.
- On Tuesday, police received a report about an alleged violation of a protection from abuse order in the 200 block of South Brady Street. The victim told police she’d received a text message from a male who she had an active PFA against. Upon investigation police arrested the male who was arraigned and released on $5,000 bail.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of credit card fraud Tuesday in the 100 block of Spring Avenue. The victim told police that four PayPal transactions were taken from her bank account and these weren’t authorized by her. The investigation, police said, is continuing at this time.
- On Tuesday, police received a report about an alleged incident of criminal mischief in the 500 block of Glenwood Avenue. The victim told police that someone rolled a large tractor tire from the playground area above her residence into her garage door. The tire, police said, caused damage to the door and its frame. The investigation, police said, is continuing at this time.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of burglary Tuesday in the 200 block of West Long Avenue. The victim told police that someone entered his apartment and removed medication. The investigation, police said, is continuing at this time.
- During the week of Sept. 7-13, police investigated seven motor vehicle accidents. Police also issued 29 traffic citations and 10 written traffic warnings during the week.
Sandy Township
- A 34-year-old DuBois man was traveling on Rockton Road when a deer ran in front of his vehicle, causing the two to collide on Monday. No injuries were reported and the vehicle was towed from the scene.
- On Monday, local boy scouts found a woman’s credit cards and identification while doing a clean-up on Route 119.
- On Monday, Bon Ton employees reported that someone cut and removed coper wire that was connected from the building to their trash compactor.
- On Monday, someone allegedly entered the garage of the Peritch building on Shaffer Road and took a leather bag containing approximately 1,000 fishing flies valued at $2,000.
- On Monday, a DuBois woman reported damage to a door knob at a rental property on East Maloney Road. Police said it appeared that someone entered the residence but didn’t take anything.
- The pastor of the Bethal Church reported Monday that someone broke in and took $3 in cash from a jar.
- A 25-year-old Circle Road woman reported Tuesday that a friend she was staying with had assaulted her. The investigation, police said, is ongoing at this time.
- Employees of Royer’s Auto reported Tuesday that someone scratched two vehicles with a sharp object.
