Clearfield JV Football at 3-0 on Year

Martinsburg — The Clearfield Area HIgh School Junior Varsity football team gave up their first points of the year, but still easily outdistanced Central 27-6 to remain undefeated on the year at 3-0.

The Bison built up a 14-0 halftime lead on a Corey Shimmel nine yard run, a 42 yard Shimmel to Mason Royer touchdown pass, and a 2-point conversion by Dakota Shimmel after the first Bison score.

In the third quarter the Bison extended their lead to 20-0 on Dakota Shimmel’s 37 yard TD run before the Dragons put up the first points of the year on the underclassmen Bison via a short TD pass.

The Bison tacked on a defensive touchdown on Royer’s 46-yard interception return and Chris Cheskey added the PAT to set the final at 27-6.

Also aiding the defense were Garrett Rowles and Travis Ogden, each recovering a fumble.

The Bison (3-0) will host the Huntingdon Bearcats next Monday night at the Bison Sports Complex.
