PASCO, Wash. — Tri-City Dust Devil reliever Chad Zurat (Clearfield) was in line for his second minor league victory when he protected a 3-3 tie with a scoreless sixth inning though surrendering two hits to Spokane. The Dust Devils then tallied two runs in the Northwest League game that drew 1,798 fans into Gesa Stadium Wednesday night.

However, Zurat (1-0) was pulled after hitting one batter and walking another in the top of the seventh, and both Indians scored to tie it up again at 5-5.

The Dust Devils (10-10) eventually won, 8-7, with two runs in the bottom of the 14th inning to move into first place in the North Division’s second half race.

Zurat’s season statistics after his shortest stint in seven appearances are 16 innings pitched with 13 strikeouts and five walks. He’s allowed 27 hits and 19 runs, 17 earned.
