Thompson’s long ball drives big inning in Spikes win

Nick Thompson smashed his fifth home run of the season to help jumpstart a six-run third inning for the State College Spikes to drive an 8-2 win over the Mahoning Valley Scrappers on Thursday night at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park in front of 5,020 fans.
