CLEARFIELD – Members of the Clearfield County Fair and Park Board have announced donations to two Clearfield County-based charitable organizations.

Last month, the board received a $10,000 grant from the Clearfield County Commissioners. The grant enabled the board to waive the $1 admission fee for Sunday.

The grant funding was utilized for marketing costs. It also allowed the board to cover payroll and associated operating costs for Sunday with funds reallocated from the marketing budget.

The board originally intended to donate a portion of the Sunday admission fee to one or more charitable organizations in Clearfield County. Even though the fee was waived, the board wanted to follow through with its promise.

After covering payroll and operating costs, the board felt the amount of funds remaining was not enough. As a result, it reallocated funds in order to donate a total of $3,000.

Prior to the Full Pull Productions Truck and Tractor Pull, members of the Fair and Park Board presented a check in the amount of $1,500 each to the Special Olympics of Clearfield County and to the Clearfield County Charitable Foundation.
