Zurat Allows One Run in Two Innings

PASCO, Wash. — Tri-County Dust Devils reliever Chad Zurat (Clearfield) was called on for two innings of mop-up duty in a 10-6 Northwest League loss to the Vancouver Canadians with 1,463 fans looking on at Gesa Stadium Monday night.

Making his second appearance in three nights, Zurat pitched the eighth and ninth frames and allowed one run on two hits and a sacrifice fly.

He has worked 7-1/3 innings in three outings with four strikeouts and no walks. He’s given up 15 hits and nine runs, eight earned, for a 9.82 earned run average.

The Sun Devils finished the first half of the North Division in third place at 14-24.

Vancouver and Spokane matched 25-13 records with the latter winning the first half title via a tie-breaker.
