State police at Clearfield
- An incident of criminal mischief occurred Saturday on Main Street in Coalport Borough. During the incident, a 27-year-old Coalport woman allegedly vandalized two vehicles parked outside the victim’s residence. She allegedly broke several windows with a rock and slashed four tires. Damage is estimated at $700, state police said. The woman was allegedly observed at the scene and fled when confronted by the victims. Charges will be filed through the district court.
- An incident of DUI occurred Saturday on Gillingham Road in Girard Township. During the incident, a 20-year-old York man was stopped for a traffic violation. He was found to have been consuming alcohol and failed the standardized field sobriety tests. He was placed under arrest for suspected DUI and transported to the Clearfield barracks for a legal breath sample. The man was found to have a BAC of .18 percent. Charges of DUI and related summary offenses are currently pending through the district court.
- An incident of theft from a motor vehicle occurred Sunday in the parking lot of 453 Hanger in Pike Township. During the incident, someone removed the radio from the victim’s vehicle.
- An incident of theft by unlawful taking occurred Saturday at the Sunny Slope Apartments in Chester Hill Borough. Further, the victim provided a 24-year-old Philipsburg man transportation. While riding in the victim’s vehicle, the man obtained the victim’s wallet and removed $40.
- Minor injuries occurred after a single-vehicle accident Sunday on the Janesville Pike in Gulich Township. Mary M. Barrett of LaJose was traveling north and negotiating a left-hand curve in the roadway. She subsequently lost control of her vehicle, which traveled off the right berm. When she attempted to return her vehicle to the roadway, it crossed both lanes and struck a traffic sign and a ditch. Both Barrett and her passenger sustained minor injuries and were transported to the Tyrone Hospital. It is unknown if Barrett and her passenger were wearing their seatbelts; the accident remains under investigation at this time. Barrett’s vehicle was towed from the scene. Barrett was cited for the accident.
- An incident of harassment/criminal mischief occurred Sunday on Pea Vine Road in Boggs Township. During the incident, a 27-year-old woman and a 39-year-old man, both of West Decatur, allegedly engaged in argument over a vehicle. The argument, state police said, turned physical when the man allegedly pushed the woman and then punched her in the face. The woman allegedly threw rocks at a 41-year-old Karthaus man’s vehicle, causing damage to the same. The West Decatur man was cited for harassment and the woman for criminal mischief.
State police at DuBois
- An incident of theft occurred sometime between May 28 and Friday on Evergreen Drive at the Pine Valley Trailer Court in Huston Township. Further, the victim told state police that he had two, 16-inch car wheels and a metal car ramp in a yard and someone took the items, which were valued at approximately $225. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the state police at DuBois at 814-371-4652.
- An incident of simple assault/theft occurred Saturday on Airport Road in Washington Township. During the incident, a 42-year-old Falls Creek man and the victim allegedly engaged in an argument, which turned physical. The man allegedly threw a glass on the victim’s foot, which caused a laceration. He also allegedly kicked the victim in her torso and shook her before taking her purse containing $650 and refusing to return it.
- An incident of burglary occurred Friday at a radio tower off of Gamelands Road in Sandy Township. During the incident, someone cut the lock off the cons-comm shelter before cutting and removing three tower leg ground wires, a building lightning ground wire and Telco block ground wires. State police observed an all-terrain vehicle traveling southbound on Gamelands Road while responding to the scene. It was noted two males were riding the ATV, and one was wearing a backpack containing bolt cutters. State police pursued the ATV, and its operator eluded by turning into the woods. The ATV was last seen by a witness heading south toward DuBois City. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the state police at DuBois at 814-371-4652.
State police at Philipsburg
- An incident of burglary occurred sometime May 30-31 on Bell Hollow Road in Taylor Township. During the incident, a known Port Matilda man allegedly entered a residence and removed several items. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
- A dog law violation occurred Saturday at the Miles Grove Trailer Park in Julian. Further, a Julian man allegedly failed to keep his dog secured on his property, and it wandered through the trailer park. The dog, state police said, also attempted to bite a child. The man was cited for the incident.
- State police investigated a natural death that occurred sometime Saturday or Sunday at an apartment building on North Second Street in Philipsburg Borough. Further, an 83-year-old Philipsburg woman died from natural causes, state police said.
- An incident of underage drinking occurred Sunday along Interstate 99 at mile-marker 58.5 in Taylor Township. Further, state police conducted a traffic stop due to an expired registration and determined two teens had consumed alcoholic beverages.
- An incident of harassment occurred May 29 on Lion Lane in Huston Township. During the incident, a known 29-year-old man allegedly engaged in a physical altercation with the victim. Charges will be filed through the district court.
- An incident of harassment occurred Sunday on South Second Street in Philipsburg Borough. During the incident, a Houtzdale male allegedly punched the victim in the face and grabbed her by the throat.
Clearfield Borough
- Police received a report about a missing dog, which was a poodle/cocker spaniel mix. It was lost in the area of 534 W. Locust St.; its name is Zeplin. Also, the dog is light tan in color with an orange Harley Davidson collar.
- Police responded to a vehicle lockout on Clearfield Street.
- Police received a report about a stolen wristlet that was pink and blue in color.
- Police received a report about found drug paraphernalia at the intersection of Turnpike Avenue and West Locust Street.
- Police received a report about a dog that was to be scaring children at a bus stop in East End.
- Police were requested to check the welfare of a female on North Fourth Street. The female was found to be OK.
- Police arrested a male for outstanding warrants through several agencies after he was stopped for a traffic violation along U.S. Route 322 on Sunday night.
- Police received a report about a male who was making statements about harming himself.
- Police assisted Morris-Cooper Regional police with recovering a vehicle that was removed from that jurisdiction without permission.
- Police received a report about suspicious activity on Fourth Street.
- Police unlocked a vehicle along East Fifth Street.
- Police were requested to check on a juvenile male who was possibly in possession of alcohol. Police listed the complaint as unfounded.
- Police responded to Turnpike Avenue for an alarm. It was a false alarm, police said.
- Police received a report about found drug paraphernalia in the area of Turnpike Avenue and West Pine Street. Upon arrival police took possession and disposed of the items.
- Police responded to a domestic dispute between two sisters on Spruce Street.
- Police responded to East Pine Street to check the welfare of a male. He was found to be sleeping, police said.
- Police received a report about a tree blocking North Front Street.
Lawrence Township
- Police assisted a motorist with vehicle problems at the Wal-Mart Supercenter.
- Police received a report about an animal that was in distress inside a vehicle at Lowe’s. The vehicle was gone prior to police arrival.
- Police received a report about an incident of criminal mischief involving a vehicle parked along Daisy Street Extension.
- Police received a report about a child throwing rocks at a window at the Lawrence Park Village Apartments. Upon arrival police found there wasn’t any damage to the window.
- Police received a report about a neighbor dispute, which involved a stone being thrown at a child. Charges are currently pending at this time.
- Police were requested to check the welfare of a Hillsdale resident.
- Police received reports about several 9-1-1 hang-up calls at the Lawrence Park Village Apartments. Further, police found a child was playing with the phone.
- Police received a report about an ongoing civil issue.
- Police received a report about stolen, lost or mislaid property. Further, the complainant contacted police later and notified they’d located their wallet.
- Police received a report about a dog locked inside a vehicle. Its owner arrived shortly after.
- Police assisted mental health personnel and escorted a female to the Clearfield Penn Highlands Emergency Department.
- Police assisted two, different motorists.
- Police received a report about a vehicle being damaged in the Kerr Addition area.
- Police received a report about a hit-and-run accident that occurred Sunday at the Wal-Mart Supercenter. Further, the operator of a green GMC Sonoma struck another vehicle and left the scene. Anyone with information about the accident is asked to contact Lawrence Township police.
- Police received a report about an individual on Rails to Trails who was allegedly shooting a BB gun at others passing by. Upon arrival police checked the area but didn’t locate anyone.
- Police received a report about dogs barking in the Hyde area.
DuBois City
- On Friday, police received a report about an incident of retail theft that occurred at Martin’s Grocery Store. Upon police arrival, the manager advised that they’d detained a female who attempted to steal $15 worth of merchandise. The female was subsequently arrested for retail theft.
- Police received a report about a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian that occurred Friday at the intersection of Liberty Boulevard and Hoover Avenue. Upon arrival police found the operator of a blue Chevrolet Silverado was traveling eastbound on Hoover Avenue when a juvenile ran into the path of the vehicle. The vehicle struck the juvenile who was then transported to DuBois Penn Highlands with minor injuries.
- Police received a report about an incident of burglary that occurred sometime between June 3 and Friday at a Rumbarger Avenue residence. The victim told police that while she was away, someone entered her residence and removed a PlayStation Game System. Police have a suspect and the incident remains under investigation at this time.
- On Saturday, police conducted a traffic stop after observing several violations on Meadow Lane. Upon investigation police found the operator was under the influence of alcohol. The female was placed under arrest for DUI and several other summary traffic violations.
- On Saturday, police received a report about an incident of theft from a motor vehicle that occurred in the 600 block of West Long Avenue. The victim told police that sometime overnight someone entered her vehicle and removed money. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
- On Saturday, police received a report about a female who was screaming from on top of a 9-foot pole in the 100 block of Grant Street. The female was gone prior to police arrival. Individuals advised police they had neither seen nor heard anyone screaming from on top of a pole.
- During the week of June 1-Saturday, police investigated eight traffic accidents and issued 40 traffic citations and six written warnings.
