Center Offers Apprise Volunteer Opportunities

CLEARFIELD – The Volunteer Center of Clearfield County, 103 N. Front St., Clearfield, is a coordinating clearinghouse linking those interested in volunteering with volunteer opportunities. Volunteers are matched with agencies and projects according to their skills, interests and available time.

The Volunteer Center is a community service program offered to agencies and volunteers in Clearfield County and is funded by the Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging Inc.

This is a current volunteer opportunity:

Apprise Volunteer

It’s an opportunity to become a part of a special team. You can help others understand the Medicare prescription drug program and other parts of the Medicare program as an Apprise volunteer.

Apprise Telecenter counselors are specially-trained volunteers who answer phone calls on specific days from consumers needing help and information on Medicare, health insurance and Social Security issues.  Apprise Telecenter volunteers are trained to help older Pennsylvanians by taking some of the confusion out of Medicare and the range of health insurance options available to them and assisting them with the proper contacts to help them solve their issues.

If you are looking for an opportunity to help assist others or would like to learn more about Medicare and becoming a volunteer with Apprise, please call Alice or Faith at 814-765-2696. The Apprise program offers free training and support to our volunteers.

Apprise counselors should be at least 18 years of age or older.  They work in four-hour shifts on the phones each Monday.

The Volunteer Center of Clearfield County is sponsored as a community outreach effort by the Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging Inc. and is funded through the Area Agency on Aging, national and state grants and local contributions.
