BELLEFONTE — The Clearfield Area High School softball team was held to two hits in a 6-1 Mountain League loss to Bellefonte at O’Leary Field Monday afternoon.
Devynn Ireland and Rachel Hoffman singled off winner Stevi Confer, who struck out six and walked two in six innings.
The Lady Bison averted a shutout with an unearned run off Tara Baney in the seventh. Karlie Lewis walked, advanced to third on an error and a sacrifice bunt and scored on Molly Sartin’s groundout to the circle.
Hoffman was the losing hurler, pitching into the fifth inning and allowing five hits and all of the Lady Raiders runs, with one unearned. She had one strikeout and two walks.
Raeleigh Redden blanked Bellefonte (10-8, 7-6 ML) over the final 1-1/3 innings with one strikeout and one walk.
The Lady Bison finished 4-10 in the league and fell to 6-12 overall.
Vanessa Cooper powered the Lady Raiders with a double and home run, driving in three runs.
Jenna Ault tripled and Olivia Ripka doubled for RBIs.
Clearfield will close out the regular season with a pair of non-league games, Tuesday against Altoona on Senior Day at the BSC and at Hollidaysburg Thursday.
