BRADFORD — Raeleigh Redden fashioned a two-hitter and knocked in three runs as Clearfield breezed to a 7-2 win over Bradford in non-league scholastic softball action Tuesday.
Megan Vanderburgh accounted for three of the Lady Bison’s 10 hits and Rachel Hoffman added a pair, including a double, and had two RBIs.
Redden struck out eight Lady Owls and walked only one for her second win in three decisions.
She was staked to a 3-0 cushion in the top of the first inning when Hoffman singled home Lauren Butler and Vanderburgh and then scored on an error.
Redden had a run-scoring single in the fourth and a two-run single after Molly Sartin had driven in a run with a hit in the fifth.
The 0-11 Lady Owls, victims of Mercy Rule perfect games by Elk County Catholic and DuBois pitchers on Friday and Monday, averted another shutout in the bottom of the seventh.
Clearfield (5-9) will welcome Brookville to the Bison Sports Complex for a non-league game Wednesday and then go back on the road for a doubleheader against Mountain League co-leader Philipsburg-Osceola Thursday.
