Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about a scam from a resident. The resident received a letter from Sun Trust Financial Services, which advised they had won a cash prize. To obtain the winnings, the resident was directed to cash a check and send it back for processing fees. Police would like to remind residents that this is a scam.
- Police received a report about a Protection from Abuse violation.
- Police received a report about an incident of retail theft on Supercenter Drive. As a result, a male will be arrested for retail theft.
- Police received a report about traffic violations on Riverview Road. Police will provide extra patrols in the area.
- Police received a report about an incident of harassment.
- Police received a report about the theft of medication.
- Police received a report about an incident of theft that occurred at the Clearfield Area High School. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
- Police received a report about a tree that was down on Fire Tower Road. The tree was removed from the roadway.
- Police received a report about an injured deer on Goshen Road. The deer was in the state police’s jurisdiction.
- Police received a report about a tree that was down along Fire Tower Road. Upon arrival police found the tree was along the side of the roadway, and it wasn’t causing a traffic hazard.
- Police received a report about a traffic complaint along Turnpike Avenue.
DuBois City
- A panic alarm activated Wednesday at the Clearfield Bank & Trust Co. on Beaver Drive. Upon arrival police found everything to be OK.
- A hit-and-run accident occurred Wednesday in the Martin’s Grocery parking lot on Hoover Avenue. While a vehicle was parked, someone struck it and fled the scene. No information was provided to the vehicle owner about the accident. The accident remains under investigation at this time.
- The theft of pain medication occurred Wednesday in the 200 block of East Weber Avenue. Further, there wasn’t any forced entry into the residence. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
- A domestic disturbance occurred Wednesday in the 100 block of East Park Avenue. Further, a DuBois woman reported her boyfriend arrived home from the bar and became upset because she didn’t make him supper. He subsequently dumped her salad on her head and left the residence. Once outside the residence, he kicked her vehicle several times. Charges are currently pending at this time.
- On Wednesday, a fight occurred involving several males in the 400 block of Pifer Street. One of the men suffered a puncture wound to his lower lip from being punched in the face. Also, a vehicle was vandalized and an iPod was stolen during the incident. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
- On Thursday, police initiated an investigation into an incident of vandalism that occurred to four vehicles in the 100 block of South Brady Street. During the incident, someone scratched wording on the side of one vehicle; they put scratches on the other vehicles.
- On Thursday, a DuBois man reported he’d been the victim of a scam. Further, a caller told his wife that their grandson had been arrested and needed $3,000 for bail. They were directed to purchase a Green Dot Moneypak Card and provide the card information, which they did. A short time later, they realized they’d been a victim of a scam. The incident remains under investigation.
- Police assisted the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department on Thursday with serving an arrest warrant. Police located the wanted man in the 300 block of West Long Avenue and he was taken into custody without incident. He was transported to Jefferson County by deputies.
- On Friday, a domestic disturbance occurred in the 100 block of Robinson Street. Further, a woman and her cousin engaged in an argument. The woman told police that her cousin started smashing up her apartment. He left prior to police arrival; the woman didn’t want to press charges against him.
