State police at Clearfield
- A single-vehicle accident occurred Monday on Interstate 80 westbound at mile-marker 134.1 in Cooper Township. Lisa McGonigal of Frenchville was plowing the north shoulder of I-80 when her wing plow struck the guiderails. Her plow truck subsequently knocked down a large section of guiderails before continuing west and coming to a final rest in a field adjacent to I-80. McGonigal was wearing her seatbelt and sustained minor injuries as a result of the accident.
- A single-vehicle accident occurred Monday on state Route 153 in Woodward Township. Daniel Muoio of Houtzdale was traveling south in the right-hand lane of the snow-covered roadway. He lost control of his truck and traveled off the eastbound shoulder into the guiderail. Both the Muoio truck and the guiderails sustained major damage. Anyone with information about the accident is asked to contact the state police at Clearfield at 814-857-3800.
State police at Philipsburg
- No injuries were reported after a single-vehicle accident Saturday on Hall Road in Union Township. Brandon Hall of Julian was traveling northbound when he lost control of his vehicle and struck a mailbox and a tree. His vehicle sustained disabling damage to the 3’oclock position. Hall was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about a verbal argument that occurred between two females at the Lawrence Park Villages. The incident was handled without any criminal charges.
- Police received a report about a parking complaint from a local business along the Clearfield – Shawville Highway.
- Police are assisting another agency from Kentucky with numerous thefts that have occurred in their jurisdiction.
- Police received a report about a missing male from a local hotel. Upon arrival police located the male on the hotel’s property.
- Police received a report about a possible missing person. Upon investigation, police found the person living in another jurisdiction and referred the incident to that agency.
- Police received a parking complaint from a local hotel. As a result, the owner will be contacted and asked to remove their vehicle from the hotel property.
- Police received a report about a domestic dispute. Upon arrival police handled the incident at the scene.
- Police recovered possible stolen property.
- Police received a report about a single-vehicle accident on Clark Street. One person sustained moderate injuries and was flown to the Altoona Hospital.
- Police received a report about a civil property dispute at the Edgewood Apartments.
- Police received a report after someone found a driver’s license.
- Police received a report about an incident of harassment at the Edgewood Apartments.
- R.J. Corman police were assisted with locating an individual.
Curwensville Borough
- Police received a report about stolen medication on Friday.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of theft on Friday. However, police determined it wasn’t a criminal act and referred the complainant to the proper agency.
- Police received a report about a property dispute involving a vehicle on Saturday in the area of Park Avenue.
- Police received a report about eggs being thrown at a residence on Second Avenue on Saturday.
- Police received a report about an incident of harassment on Monday.
DuBois City
- On Sunday, police received a report about an incident of theft at a South State Street residence. The victim told police she had medications stolen from her cabinet. Police have a suspect for the incident, and charges are currently pending.
- On Sunday, police received a report about a hit-and-run accident that occurred in the 400 block of Knarr Street. Upon arrival police found the suspect vehicle had driven through the victim’s yard and struck the residence before fleeing the scene. Police located the suspect vehicle, and charges are currently pending at this time.
- On Monday, police received a report about an attempted scam that occurred in the 100 block of Mahoning Street. The victim told police she’d received a check in the mail from Links Financial Inc. for $4,250 with a letter. If she paid $3,850, she’d be paid $4,250. Police subsequently advised the victim that this was a scam. Also, police would like to warn all residents that if they receive suspicious checks/letters requesting money, it’s likely a scam and they are to notify their local police department.
- On Monday, police received a report about a suspicious male in the 100 block of East Washington Avenue. The male was walking around the victim’s residence with his hood up. Upon arrival police located the male who was leaving another residence in the area. During the investigation, police found the male in possession of a small amount of marijuana. Charges are currently pending at this time.
- During the week of Jan. 26 through Feb. 1, police investigated 10 traffic accidents and issued 27 traffic citations and four written traffic warnings.
