Penn State Extension Offers StrongWomen Program

CLEARFIELD – StrongWomen/Growing Stronger is a strength training program for men and women who are 40 years of age and older and who have been active or relatively sedentary and interested in improving their health.

Researchers at Tufts University say that Growing Stronger is simple, safe, and effective. Working out, they said, can greatly affect the quality of life and result in scientifically-proven benefits, such as arthritis relief, improved balance, stronger bones and muscles, weight maintenance, improved glucose control, healthier state of mind, reduced risk of heart disease and improved sleep.

The Penn State Extension offers StrongWomen/Growing Stronger in Cameron, Elk, Jefferson and Clearfield counties. Meetings are twice per week for 12 weeks. The cost is just $90 for those registering after Jan. 10.
