Morrisdale Man Dies from Injuries Sustained in Accident

MORRIS TOWNSHIP – A Morrisdale man, Robert Ferguson, was killed Thursday in a single-vehicle accident on Deer Creek Road in Morris Township, reported the state police at Clearfield.

Ferguson was traveling northbound when he lost control of his pick-up truck on the wet roadway. His truck traveled off the east berm, striking an embankment and then a tree.

As a result, Ferguson was entrapped inside the truck and had to be extricated from it. He was conscious and alert at the scene and subsequently transported to the Altoona Hospital for further evaluation, state police said.

However, state police were later contacted by the Blair County Coroner’s Office to report Ferguson had died from complications that resulted from the accident.

State police were assisted by the Moshannon Valley Emergency Medical Services and the Morris Township Volunteer Fire Department.
