State police at Clearfield
- A hit-and-run accident occurred Tuesday on the Morrisdale – Allport Highway in Morris Township. Richard A. Coble, 50, of Munson was traveling southbound and negotiating a left-hand curve. His vehicle exited its lane and traveled approximately 360 feet along the berm before striking a guiderail. After impact, his vehicle continued for approximately 12 feet, damaging the guiderail. Coble fled the scene of the accident; his vehicle was towed from the scene. State police were assisted by the Morris Township Fire Department.
- An accident occurred Tuesday on the Shawville Highway in Bradford Township. The operator of a Ford Explorer was traveling northbound when they lost control and entered into the southbound lane. Their vehicle subsequently traveled down over a small embankment. No injuries were reported as a result of the accident, and the vehicle sustained minor damage to the front and rear bumper and driver’s side mirror. Also, a PennDOT sign was damaged as a result of the accident.
- An incident of burglary occurred sometime between Sept. 3 and Wednesday on Main Street in Coalport Borough. During the incident, someone forced their way into an abandoned building and removed several hundred feet of copper pipe. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the state police at Clearfield at 814-857-3800.
- No injuries were reported after a two-vehicle accident Thursday on the Shawville – Croft Highway in Goshen Township. Alex J. McCrea, 79, of Shaker Heights, Ohio was attempting to turn onto Stiner Road. While McCrea was in the northbound lane, Garrett J. Lauder, 19, of Frenchville rear-ended his vehicle. After impact, the Lauder vehicle spun and struck the guiderail before coming to a rest facing south off the northbound lane. Lauder obtained towing services through his insurance agency; he was cited for the accident.
Lawrence Township
- Police responded to numerous traffic-related incidents during the winter storm in the nighttime hours Wednesday and the early morning hours Thursday.
- Police received a call about a custody issue.
- Police responded to a domestic dispute at the Lawrence Park Village Apartments. Upon arrival police handled the incident at the scene.
- Police responded to an audible alarm at a business on state Route 879. Upon arrival police found the business secured.
DuBois City
- On Wednesday, someone smashed the windows and caused other damage to a new building at Showers Field. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
- A two-vehicle accident occurred Wednesday at the intersection of DuBois Street and Beaver Drive. No injuries were reported, and both vehicles were driven from the scene.
- An alarm activated Wednesday at the YBC on Parkway Drive. Upon arrival police found the building secured.
- On Thursday, a 24-year-old DuBois man was stopped while he was swerving all over the roadway on New Street. He was found to be intoxicated and arrested for DUI.
- Someone struck a utility pole on West Long Avenue and then fled the scene. The incident remains under investigation.
- An alarm activated Friday at Advanced Auto Parts on Liberty Boulevard. Upon arrival police found the building secured.
