PENN TOWNSHIP – A 57-year-old Grampian man, James F. Cummings, was flown to the Altoona Hospital after an all-terrain vehicle accident Sunday on Sixth Street Extension in Penn Township, reported the state police at Clearfield.
Cummings was attempting to make a U-turn but was traveling too fast to complete it, state police said. He overturned the ATV and fell onto the roadway. Cummings was not wearing a helmet and sustained major injuries.
Cummings violated Pennsylvania Vehicle Code for limitations on turning around, according to the report. State police were assisted at the scene by the Penn-Grampian Fire Company.
