BENEZETTE TOWNSHIP – A 52-year-old Weedville man, Alvin E. Shutters Jr., was killed in an accident this morning after his motorcycle struck an elk on state Route 555 in Benezette Township.
Shutters was traveling eastbound about one-quarter mile west of Gray Hill Road on his Honda Goldwing motorcycle when he struck the elk. He sustained fatal injuries in the accident.
The state police at Ridgway were assisted at the scene by the Bennetts Valley Ambulance and the Jay Township Fire Department.
