DUBOIS – DuBois City Council didn’t have a quorum for Monday night’s meeting. Council members Jim Aughenbaugh, Randy Schmidt and Edward Walsh were absent.
City Manager John “Herm” Suplizio thanked various groups for their participation with DuBois Community Days. He said the event required extensive planning and effort, which began well in advance.
He also thanked the boy scouts who cleaned up the park after the festivities.
He noted that Dave Bish of the Tri-County Church of God coordinated a standing room only Church in the Park the Sunday following Community Days. However, rain forced its relocation to the DuBois Area Middle School. He also thanked Bobby Shaffer and Marla Minns of the United Way Office.
Suplizio added that 99 percent of the events were free to the public. He pointed out the world-ranging talent that appeared during the circus.
“I guess there is one person in particular to thank,” said Suplizio before mentioning Jeff Baronick. “He wants to prove to outsiders what kind of community we are.”
