The Adopt-A-Book event is an opportunity to assist the library in providing its most essential resource – books.
“The fundraiser is a wonderful way to bring people together and generate support for literacy within the community,” said Paula Collins, library director. “We encourage the public to stop by and enjoy the afternoon with us.”
The books available for purchase will be on display throughout the library and include adult, young adult and children’s books. All donations are tax deductible and the donor may have a commemorative bookplate placed in each item adopted.
“The Adopt-A-Book fundraiser is a unique and affordable gift for an anniversary, birthday, retirement, graduation or to honor the memory of a loved one,” said Collins. “A book is a gift that can be opened over and over.”
Collins also announced that the Susquehanna Photo Contest Gallery & Dedication by Susquehanna Greenway Partnership will be held between musical performances this year.
The gallery will remain on display at the library through July 2. Musical entertainment at the event will be provided by Mark and Shawna Wurster, which will be followed by Chris and Megan McGarry.
Sponsors for this year’s event include: Starr Hill Winery, Express Café, Gio’s BBQ of Woodland, and Tammy’s Gardens.
“We had a wonderful event last year and we anticipate another successful Adopt-A-Book event,” said Collins. “The library is fortunate to have such a supportive community.”
