MILL HALL — Cayden Stover pitched a three-hit shutout and Central Mountain scored in every at-bat for a 10-0 win over Clearfield in scholastic baseball action Monday afternoon.
The non-league game was halted in the bottom of the fifth inning because of the Mercy Rule.
Erik Sellers had two singles and Wyatt Westen was the losing pitcher for the Bison, who stranded nine runners in falling to 2-9.
Only three of the eight runs Westen gave up in three-plus innings were earned. Devin Jones allowed two runs in one-plus innings of relief.
Stover struck out nine and walked three for Central Mountain’s fifth win in 11 games.
Luke Wise’s triple and single and Stover’s double and single led the Wildcats’ 12-hit attack.
Clearfield will be back home Tuesday for a Mountain League game against Bellefonte.
