CPCA Receives Funding from the SOI

CLEARFIELD – Central Pennsylvania Community Action (CPCA) has announced its selection as the recipient of $2,000 from the Son’s of Italy (SOI).  Charitable giving and volunteerism are an important part of the SOI’s commitment to its communities.

CPCA will use the funding to supplement its local food pantries that are facing the largest shortages and to be used to purchase items that will be given to area recipients.  CPCA has operated 10 food pantries, located in Clearfield County, for more than 30 years.  More than 6,300 Clearfield County residents benefited from food pantry services in the past year.

In 2012, CPCA served more than 16,000 unduplicated individuals through its vast array of services. CPCA’s primary services includes housing services, weatherization, rental housing, case management, food services, heating and utility assistance, employment assistance and training, consumer information and referral, and transportation services.

CPCA’s mission is “strengthening our communities by helping families and individuals in Centre and Clearfield counties to become self-sufficient”.  For more information on CPCA programs, please call the CPCA at 814-765-1551 or 800-822-2610.
