CLEARFIELD – The Lawrence Township Supervisors voted to purchase a new Dodge 550 T-Plate Dump Truck with snow equipment at Tuesday night’s meeting. One currently-used dump truck will be treated as a reserve vehicle.
According to Supervisor Edward Brown, the township already has three trucks off the road for maintenance. He said repair costs are rising to keep them road worthy. Supervisor Bill Lawhead said the cost of the new truck will be $78,000.
Supervisor Glenn Johnston listed the merits of this truck over a larger one for the purpose of snow removal. He said these included it being quicker, more maneuverable and easier to use within traffic.
