BELLEFONTE — The Clearfield Bison wrestling team didn’t have much time to recover from their five match day at the 5th Annual Bison Duals on Saturday as they hit the road for a match against the now 10-3 Bellefonte Red Raiders on Tuesday night.
Clearfield (4-7) for the fourth time this year had a match come down to one bout, but is 0-4 in those matches. Bellefonte trailed early as Clearfield won the first two bouts to jump out to an 8-0 lead. Bellefonte then won seven of the next eight bouts to take a commanding 35-14 lead with four bouts left to wrestle.
After a forfeit, a major decision, and a fall, Clearfield pulled to within five at 35-30 with one final bout. Clearfield needed a pin from Grant Climie (2-11) but received just the opposite when Dillon Kephart picked up a first period fall to set the final at 41-30.
Clearfield will have the rest of the week off, but will head to the New Oxford tourney Friday January 25 and 26.
