G. Burton Pearson, 68, of Clearfield died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, as the result of a vehicle accident.
He was born Jan. 31, 1944 in Medina, OH, the son of Clarence J. “Swede” and Evelyn D. (Driggs) Pearson.
He was affiliated with the St. John Lutheran Church.
Mr. Pearson was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He was retired from Kurtz Bros. as a craftsman after 42 years of service.
Mr. Pearson was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks Clearfield Lodge No. 540 and the John Lewis Shade Post #6 of the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Joanne (Tankalavage) Pearson, whom he married on July 2, 1966; a niece, Tracey Unch and her husband, Robert and their daughters, AshLee and EmiLee of Virginia Beach, VA.; and two nephews, C. Daniel Fry III of Alpharetta, GA., and Clarence R. “Randy” Fry and his wife, Lisa of Mt. Holy Springs.
Mr. Pearson was the last member of his generation. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Charles and Kenneth Pearson and two sisters, Sonja L. Fry and Jane Heitsenrether.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home Inc. of Clearfield with the Rev. Robert J. Way officiating. Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home by the Clearfield American Legion Post #6 and the VFW Post #1785 Honor Guard.
Friends will be received from 5 p.m. until the hour of the services Saturday at the funeral home.
The family suggests contributions be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
