Betty M. Elensky, 86, of Curwensville died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. She was born April 6, 1926, a daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Shubert) Hale.
Mrs. Elensky retired from Kent Sportswear after 30 years of service and was also an Avon representative for 36 years. She enjoyed reading, getting her hair done every Friday and above all, cherished being a mother and homemaker. She was the last member of her generation.
She is survived by four children, David Elensky; Mona Jean Tomera and her husband, John of Medfield, MA; Gary Elensky and his wife, Janice of Grampian; and Roger Elensky and his wife, Sue of Curwensville; three grandchildren, Kristin Coudriet and her husband, Mark and Roger Elensky II, all of Curwensville and Melissa Elensky of Blandburg; and a great-grandson, Dean Coudriet.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry W. Elensky on Dec. 16, 1968 and whom she wed Sept. 26, 1947 at the St. John’s Lutheran Church, Clearfield; two sisters, Alice Hipps and Clara ‘Louise’ Beightol and three brothers, Bill Shubert and John and Creighton Hale.
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family with Gary Jewart officiating. Burial will be in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Curwensville.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Orphans of the Storm, Peggy Sass, 223 Hill St., Curwensville, the Curwensville Public Library, 601 Beech St., Curwensville, or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
