The Last Word

Dustin: “Both the Saints and Eagles are coming off losses, but I have to go with the home team in that one. Giants and Steelers will be close, less than a field goal. I picked Oregon as well, but they are on upset alert for sure, so they have to go full bore to beat the Trojans.”

Rusty: “I think Clearfield has Bradford’s number this year, and West Branch has a good shot at another win. Mo Valley’s match-up was a tough one to choose, and I hope they prove me wrong. Penn State wins on the road, and Pitt doesn’t have a chance at Notre Dame. Always take the defense in the big games, and that goes the way of Oregon, Alabama and K-State. The Steelers are still in “Gotta Win” mode and should be able to drop the Giants, and the Falcons are just too good to lose this week.”

Chris: “The Bison will begin their quest for a state title against a familiar foe, Bradford. In the past, the Owls have given the Bison fits — but not this year. I like Clearfield to roll past Bradford by at least four touchdowns. On the college front, the Nittany Lions met their match last week. However, Danny Hope is not Urban Meyer and the Boilermakers are not the Buckeyes. Penn State wins big. Finally, I like the Steelers to put together a solid game on the road and pull off the upset in New Jersey.”

Dave: “Clearfield and PSU should win easily. Pitt will give ND more of a game than many expect, this is a classic ‘let down’ game for the Irish, but I think they will find a way to pull it out. USC’s disappointing season has taken a lot of the hype out of their game against Oregon. LSU plays great ‘D’, but Alabama is a machine at this point. I think the combination of pressure on Big Ben and big plays from Eli Manning will be too much for the Steelers this week, but I think the Saints are collapsing and are the perfect tonic for what ails the Eagles right now.”

Jay: “D9 AAA title should be no problem for the Bison, just picking Blairsville in the toss-up because they are at home. PSU with the bounce back. Went with Pitt and against Notre Dame last week – not this week though. Will not pick against Oregon, ‘K-state, or ‘Bama at all this year – until the national championship game. Falcons remain undefeated for another week at least.”
