Clearfield JV Football Team Beaten by Tyrone

CLEARFIELD — The Tyrone Golden Eagles picked up a small measure of revenge for their varsity teammates’ loss to Clearfield 14-13 Friday night by beating the Bison junior varsity team 29-6 Monday night at the Bison Sports Complex.

The loss dropped the Bison to 5-2 on the season, ending their three game winning streak – a streak that saw the Bison only give up six total points.

The Clearfield JV Football team lost to Tyrone tonight by a score of 29-6.

Clearfield saw Tyrone jump out to an early 16-0 first quarter lead. The Bison narrowed the lead to 16-6 a few minutes into the second half, but never drew nearer as the Golde Eagles added 13 fourth quarter points to set the final.

Helping keep Tyrone at bay over the middle two quarters were Josh Sorbera who had an interception and a fumble recovery, and Brian Knepp who also had a fumble recovery, and Sawyer Rowles who added an interception.

The lone Clearfield touchdown came on a 3-yard run by quarterback Eric Sellers. Sellers also added two interceptions in the late going.

The Bison will look to get back on the winning track when they host Bald Eagle Area Monday October 22.
