By Adriana Acosta and Christie Hans, Penn State

UNIVERSITY PARK –  PSU Votes, a nonpartisan Penn State initiative, is organizing a Voter Registration Day on Monday, Oct. 8, at the University Park campus. The event will include a celebration in the HUB-Robeson Center beginning at 10 a.m. until 4 p.m with a focus on promoting student voter registration at Penn State.

The celebration in the HUB-Robeson Center will feature a variety of acts from student performance companies. Dance companies, musical groups and Penn State student-athletes will all join in the effort to encourage students to register to vote. The event will also feature a DJ and food provided throughout the day. Students organizing and volunteering at the event will encourage their peers to register to vote at their current address. This will enable them to vote in State College on Election Day.

The deadline to register to vote in Pennsylvania this fall on Election Day is Tuesday, Oct. 9.

PSU Votes strives to inform Penn State students on political issues and empower them to vote and emphasizes nonpartisan voter registration. Penn State Voter Registration Day will be a nonpartisan event.
