Long Awaited Home Tennis Match Ends in 9-0 Loss

CLEARFIELD — The Clearfield Area High School girl’s tennis team played their first home match in three seasons on Thursday afternoon on the newly renovated courts at the Bison Sports Complex.

Unfortunately the results was a 9-0 loss to District 9 kingpin Elk County Catholic.

Clearfield drops to 0-7 on the season with their second loss of the year to ECC.

 

 

Singles Results:

1. Yesh Patel (clfd) lost to Laira Reuscher (ecc) 0-6, 0-6.
2. Lauren Witmer (clfd) lost to Maria Gismondi (ecc) 1-6, 0-6.
3. Rachael Johnson (clfd) lost to Sophie Herzing (ecc) 0-6, 1-6.
4. Abbi Welker (clfd) lost to Liz Nicklas (ecc) 0-6, 0-6.
5. Emily Ramsey (clfd) lost to Natalie Reichard (ecc) 1-6, 0-6.
 
Doubles Results:
 
1. Patel/Welker (clfd) lost in a pro set match to Abbi Wittman/Kristen Dippold (ecc) 0-8.
2. Ramsey/Witmer (clfd) lost in a proset match to Marla Scacchitti/Rachael Stauffer (ecc) 0-8.
3. Patel/Rayanna Kavelak (clfd) lost in a proset match to Maura Keyes/Linnea Stager (ecc) 4-8.
4. Forfeit
 
The Lady Bison will be back in action on Tuesday September 25 when they host Huntingdon.
