Clearfield’s Herrington and Lezzer, Curwensville’s Greslick Named to Week 3 of D9sports.com Honor Roll

Press release by www.d9sports.com

SHIPPENVILLE – Port Allegany’s Matt Bodamer and DuBois’ Garrett Brown are the RRR Roadhouse D9Sports.com District 9 Player of the Week for the third week of the 2012 season.

Bodamer, who earns the award for the second time in three weeks, not only had a huge game in Port Allegany’s 55-14 win over Ridgway but at the same time broke the District 9 career record for passing touchdowns. Against the Elkers, he was 16-for-18 (all in the first half) for 286 yards and seven touchdowns while also running four times for 51 yards. The seven throwing scores give him 100 passing touchdowns in his career breaking the District 9 record of 95 set by Derek Buganza of Brockway. He is just the third quarterback in Pennsylvania history with 100 passing touchdowns and needs 18 more to tie the state record. The seven throwing touchdowns in a game marks just the third time a District 9 quarterback has thrown seven in a game joining Buganza (eight) and Clearfield’s Chad Kroell (seven).

Brown had a monster game of his own Friday in DuBois’ 50-6 win over Punxsutawney. He ran 15 times for 295 yards (19.7 yards per carry) and four touchdowns, returned a kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown and caught two passes for 11 yards.

Joining Bodamer and Brown in being honored this week are 14 players the RRR Roadhouse D9Sports.com Honor Roll.
