BROOKVILLE — The Curwensville Lady Tide volleyball team took to the road for the first time on the young season and broght home a 3-1 victory over Brookville to even their record at 1-1.
Curwensville lost the first game, then swept the Lady Blue Raiders the rest of the way with the scores being 21-25, 25-15, 25-19, 25-17.
Lady Tide head coach Sandy Bailor noted the first game loss, “We came out really slow tonight and that’s what cost us the first game. Brookville is a scrappy team. They make you stay on your toes with alot of out of system balls and we weren’t reacting quick enough – playing flat footed. We finally adjusted to Brookville’s syle of play and were able to win the next three games. I had a strong night at the serving line from Olivia Prave, Alaina Stiles and Abby Johnson. Katrina Seaburn, Tierra Shope and Ciara Strickland supplied our hitting attack and Olivia and Alaina did a great job setting up our offense. It was nice to get that first win of the season, but we still have alot of work to do tomorrow (Wednesday) to get ready for Punxsy on Thursday.”
