LOCK HAVEN — The Clearfield Area High School Girls Tennis team opened their season with a Mountain League match at Central Mountain on Monday.
With threatening skies, the match was shortened to three singles matches and two doubles matches. Central Mountain swept singles play which led to a 4-1 victory over the visiting Lady Bisons.
Picking up Clearfield’s lone win was the doubles duo of Emi Brown and Rachel Johnson.
Singles Results:
1. Yesh Patel (clfd) lost to Lauren Bennett (cm) 1-6, 0-6.
2. Rayanna Kavelak (clfd) lost to Tyla Bower (cm) 2-6, 0-6.
3. Emi Brown (clfd) lost to Allison Probst (cm) 0-6, 0-6.
Doubles Results:
1. Patel/Kavelak (clfd) lost to Rachael Haagen/ Morgan Blackwell (cm) 0-6, 2-6.
2. Brown/Rachael Johnson (clfd) beat Danielle Motter/Alyssa Broad (cm) 8-5 in a Pro Set match.
Clearfield will be back in action on Thursday August 23 when they travel to District 9 foe DuBois.
