Students in the Business Management and Marketing program at the Clearfield County Career and Technology Center competed against other students from around the United States in the Retailing Virtual Business Challenge (VBC) in January 2012. The VBC is a visual computer simulation of a convenience store where students learn and practice key business and marketing skills they will need to succeed in business such as pricing, promotion, merchandising, and marketing research. One team from the Business Management and Marketing class; Tyler Martell and Tricia Laird, both from Curwensville; placed 1st in the state of Pennsylvania in the VBC Round 2.
