Woman Pronounced Dead After Call for Assistance on Top of Rockton Mountain

CLEARFIELD – A woman was pronounced dead after she was taken for medical treatment following an incident at the top of Rockton Mountain Highway.

According to the Lawrence Township Police Department, officers were called for an unresponsive woman along the highway. Officers were flagged down by a motorist who asked officers to check on her. Police noted she was slumped over the wheel of a vehicle parked near the PennDOT building at the top of Rockton Mountain.

Emergency Medical Services transported her to Clearfield Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The case was then turned over to the state police as the incident originated in their jurisdiction.
