ST. MARYS — The Clearfield Area High School boys tennis team was beaten 7-2 by perennial District 9 champion Elk County Catholic on Monday afternoon in St. Marys.
The Bison winners were Cory and Kerry Maines in singles.
Singles Results:
1. Ian Bookhamer (clfd) lost Ben Wortman (ecc) 5-7, and 0-6.
2. Cory Maines (clfd) beat Shane Mancuso (ecc) 6-4, 6-2.
3. Kerry Maines (clfd) beat Drew Meyer (ecc) 6-4, and 6-2. 4. Kunal Patel (clfd) lost Scott Reichard (ecc) 5-7, and 2-6.
5. Ben Panebianco (clfd) lost to Aaron Meier (ecc) 2-6, and 1-6.
Doubles Results:
1. Ian Bookhamer and Cory Maines (clfd) lost in a pro set match to Ben Wortman and Shane Mancuso (ecc) 0-8.
2. Kerry Maines and Kunal Patel (clfd) lost to Scott Krellner and Alex Herzing (ecc) in a pro set match 4-8. 3. Ben Panebianco and Connor Renaud (clfd) lost in a proset match to Alan Brennen and Austin Minard (ecc) 1-8. 4. Vince Owens and Gabe Ford (clfd) lost to Cole Gerber and Brent Polaski in a proset match 9-7.
