CURWENSVILLE – Sisters Ciara and Savannah Strickland of Curwensville were named to the 2011-2012 Moshannon Valley Girls Basketball League All-Star Team in voting by the head coaches of the five schools.
Ciara, a freshman, led the Lady Tide in scoring with 248 points, an 11.3 average, and grabbed 79 rebounds.
She reached double figures 15 times, with a season high of 28 points against Sheffield on Feb. 7.
Savannah, a senior, had 130 points, a 6.2 average, and 59 rebounds.
Also selected were MeLesha Ahlberg and Janene Couteret of West Branch and Kelli McGarvey of Glendale. The Lady Warriors and Lady Vikings shared the MVL title.
The 2011-2012 Moshannon Valley Boys Basketball League All-Stars are Parker Emigh, Aaron Lidgett and Tyler Rothrock of champion West Branch, Joel Martin of Moshannon Valley and Michael Wigfield of Glendale.
