There were eleven forfeits in all, and the Golden Tide were the recipients of ten of those making it an easy night for Curwensville head coach Duane Wriglesworth and his squad.
Wriglesworth spoke about the current condition of the Clarion wrestling program’s situation after the match, saying, “I have a lot of empathy for Clarion and understand what kind of situation they’re in at this time and only hope that in the future they will be more competitive.” The Tide received forfeits at 106, 113,132, 138, 145, 152, 160, 182, 220 and 285.
The Bobcats picked up a forfeit at 120.
Three bouts were actually wrestled and Clarion won two of the three.
At 126 Jacob Troutman of Clarion ran his season record to 18-2 with a fall in 1:28 over Brandon Sass of the Tide.
The Bobcats also picked up a win at 195 when Andrew Bigley won by decision over Tide’s Jake Kavelak 8-4.
Austin Pollick of Curwensville, at 170, won by a technical fall over Tommy Klawuhn of the Bobcats by a 15-0 score.
Wriglesworth liked what he saw in the win by Pollick, “Austin (Pollick) wrestled a good match this evening and gained a lot of confidence with some good leg riding ability on top.”
The Golden Tide, now 6-13, entertain Ridgway Tuesday night at Patton Hall.
