Sheffield, now 12-8 on the season, made quick work of the Tide with a 25-12 edge after the first quarter and a huge 46-20 lead at the intermission.
Curwensville did come out and play a better second 16 minutes but was too far in the hole to get close as the Golden Tide slipped to 2-15 on the 2011-12 campaign.
Brett Gardner had another big night for the Tide with 17 points while fellow sophomore Tanner Elensky dropped in 11.
The Wolverines had three players in double figures as Mark Sprandle had a game high 25 points followed by Kalil Slaughter and Ryan McNeal who each added 12.
Golden Tide head coach Shane Pentz said, “We just came out slow like we did last night against Harmony, but tonight we just never were able to recover.”
Pentz did see two bright spots though in two of his sophomores, “Gardner (Brett) had a second straight game with 17 points and Elensky (Tanner) had double figures (11). That was a positive sign for us.”
The junior varsity game also was won handily by Sheffield over the Tide, 68-23.
The Golden Tide will play at home Wednesday as they battle the Black Knights of Moshannon Valley at Patton Hall. The junior varsity game will start at 6 pm and the varsity will immediately follow.
