WINGATE — Friday night the Bisons lost another close battle with a league foe as Bald Eagle notched out a 10 point victory against the vistors 63-53. The loss puts Clearfield on their longest skid of the season with three straight losses.
The Bisons were able to take an early lead in the game and hold the high scoring Bald Eagle offense to only 10 points in the first frame and jump out to a 12-10 lead.
Unfortunately for the Bisons that would be the last time they would see themselves in the lead for the night.
Most of the Bisons woes were due to 31 turnovers committed in the contest. To add insult to injury the Bisons were without starting point guard Curtis Frye who was on a football recruiting visit.
The Bisons were able to find an offensive sparks in Shawn Lord, Trey Jordan, and Robbie Myers who netted 11, 11, and 21 points respectively to account for all but 10 of the Bisons points.
Clearfield also struggled from the freethrow line, which seems to be a reoccurring theme this season, by making only 55 % of their foul shots while Bald Eagle was able to gain 20 points from the charity stripe.
The Bisons (5-7) will be back in action Monday night when they host the visiting Dubois Beavers.
