MEN’S BASKETBALL

CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. – Junior guard Matt Shiner of Clearfield returned to the Westminster (2-11) starting lineup for the first time in nine games and recorded 10 points and a career-high four assists in 17 minutes against host Thomas More.

He had a three-pointer and assisted on another at the outset and then hit a jumper and notched three more assists in a 16-2 run that gave the Titans their biggest lead, 22-10, but Thomas More (9-5) came back to win the Presidents’ Athletic Conference game 79-68.

Shiner’s second trey did help the Titans go up 49-40 early in second half before they faltered and dipped to 1-5 in the PAC.

Shiner played only three minutes in Westminster’s 69-66 PAC loss to Grove City on Jan. 4.

He has five starts in 11 games with 43 points, 13 rebounds, nine assists and six steals.
