CLEARFIELD — The visiting Central Mountain Wildcats trailed 5-0 after the opening bout, but then won six matches in a row, five by fall, to put away a struggling Clearfield squad, 54-20.
Winning matches for the Bisons were Nolan Barger at 152, Frankie Aveni at 120, and Christian Stone at 126. Barger and Stone are tied for the team lead with seven wins apiece, while Aveni upped his record to 6-3.
Noah Cline, now 3-4 on the season, received a forfeit at 106. Heavyweight Jordan Lancaster lost a hard-fought 9-8 decision in the ride-out of overtime, Dylan Graham dropped a 4-1 decision, and every other Bison loss was by fall or forfeit.
The Bisons (0-4) return to the mat Thursday at home against the visiting Brookville Raiders.
