TYRONE — On Tuesday night the Clearfield Bisons saw their four game winning streak snapped by the Tyrone Golden Eagles. Tyrone played host to the visiting Bisons en route to a 72-38 victory. The 72 points given up by the Bisons were 32 points above their season average through the first six games.
The Golden Eagles jumped out to a big first quarter lead and never looked back. By the end of the first frame Tyrone held a 16 point advantage at 24-8.
In the second quarter the Bisons would be held to their lowest scoring output in a quarter this season by netting only three points, while Tyrone continued to increase their lead carrying a 38-11 lead into the half.
Clearfield was able to score 14 points in the third frame but it was too little too late as Tyrone had already built a 59-25 lead heading into the final frame.
In the fourth and final stanza the Bisons matched the Golden Eagles bucket for bucket to keep the damage limited as they came up on the short end of the 34 point loss.
The lone bright spot for the Bisons was Robbie Myers’ 11 point performance, marking the fifth game this season he has reached double digits. Trey Jordan also had a respectable night with nine tallies.
The Bisons (4-3) will be back in action on Thursday night as they travel to Brookville for a non league game.
