PURCHASE LINE — Tuesday night the Clearfield Bisons boys basketball team earned their third straight victory on the young season, a 50-36 win over the Harmony Owls, to improve their record to 3-2.
Clearfield jumped out to an early 11-6 lead after the first quarter and never looked back. The Bisons used balanced scoring in the first period to jump ahead by getting buckets from Seth Beardsley, Shawn Lord, Robbie Myers, and Trey Jordan. Beardsley paced the Bisons scoring attack on the night with 12 points off of the bench.
The Bisons were able to increase their lead to 28-19 by half time due in large part to a big quarter by Christian Lezzer. Lezzer had the hot hand in the quarter by knocking down two three point field goals on his way to an 11 point night.
By the end of the third quarter the Bisons were in cruise control increasing the lead to 18 points and were up 41-23.
The fourth quarter saw all of the Bison reserves get some court time as Lezzer, Jordan, Myers, and CutrisFrye closed out the scoring.
The Bisons 50-36 victory will now place them in the Purchase Line Lions Club Holiday Basketball Tournament Championship game against the hometown Purchase Line Red Dragons. The finals will be played after the consolation game which features Harmony and Bald Eagle Area.
