CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield Revitalization Corporation, (CRC) announces the overall winner of the “Classic Christmas” storefront decorating contest, which is implemented by the Design Committee. The goal of the contest is to entice businesses to dress up downtown for the holiday season, creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere for the community of Clearfield. The Overall Winner of the CRC’s “Classic Christmas” contest is the Clearfield Florist. The Clearfield Florist delivers the highest “WOW” factor as it creates an attractive and enticing atmosphere inside and outside of the store.
Owner of the Clearfield Florist, Michelle Waroquire said, “We are absolutely honored and thankful for being recognized for our efforts. As a florist, presentation is everything, as well as what your store looks like inside and out. The contest is a great way to bring together all the businesses in downtown for the holiday season, and it reminds me of my youth when downtown was always decorated for Christmas. It is nice to bring that back.”
The CRC Design Chairwoman Katie Miknis explains choosing a winner was no walk in the park.
“We were very impressed with the number of businesses who participated, and we were especially surprised to see the number of non-retail businesses to participate as well. We understand it is a bit more difficult for them to decorate as they do not have merchandise to pull from their shelves and put in their windows,” said Miknis. With that, the Design Committee gave four honorable mentions to: Historica Plus Antiques, Clearfield Pharmacy, CP Realty and Burns & Burns Insurance.
The CRC was delightedly overwhelmed by the amount of businesses that participated. CRC Main Street Manager thanked the businesses who participated, “We are humbled at the response of this contest, and now downtown is a brighter, happier downtown as a result not only for employees and customers but for the entire community. We have had extremely rare warm weather throughout the last few weeks of November and in through December, and many folks are still walking the streets at night. We have received many compliments on how inviting the downtown is for everyone. Thank you to everyone who participated, as this takes the effort of a town making everyone a winner.”
