The Last Word

Jay: “Some really good games this week, the regular season finale for college football. Only picking one upset there – Oklahoma to ruin Okie State’s chance at the national title game. I said last week that Wisconsin was the best Big 10 team, so I’ll ride them to the first Big 10 championship game title. Picked 3 road winners in the NFL, never a good idea.”

Dave: “I think Georgia will give LSU a little more game than a lot expect, but in the end the Tigers will be too much for the Bulldogs. Wisconsin appears to be peaking at just the right time and should wear down the Spartans. I ALMOST picked the Bengals, the Steelers might be 8-3 but the offense was very suspect a week ago – they will need 24-30 points to beat the spunky Bengals. Falcons-Texans looked like a great game 2 weeks ago – with Houston down to their 3rd-string QB, I don’t see them beating a good Falcons squad. Finally, I see I’m the only GANT writer not yet on the Tebow bandwagon – sooner or later this amazing run will end, why not in Minnesota?”

Rusty: “Should be some good wins this weekend, especially for anyone from the state of Texas – a three-time winner in my picks. LSU’s defense once again keeps them on top of the Dawgs. And, Wisconsin wins the inaugural Big 10 Championship. The Steelers didn’t look good last week, but I think they played down to the competition.  The Bengals won’t know what hit them this week. (Go Browns)  Tebow has the Broncos on a roll and will lead them to another victory while the Packers stay unbeaten and the Lions continue their slip back into oblivion.”

Dustin: “Sure, MSU won the first game against Wisconsin because of a hail mary they’ve termed the ‘rocket play’ in their book, but if you watch that game, Michigan State battled all game long and was step for step with the Badgers the entire time.  I think lightning will strike twice in that one.  On the pro front, the Saints are lucky they go back-to-back in prime time games, especially with the Lions coming to town.  But, it’s in the Dome…how can you not pick the Saints.  Finally, once again going with the Packers.  I do think they are capable of going undefeated, and they’re doing it by winning big or winning close.  This isn’t like the 16-0 Patriots…Green Bay is earning each win.”

Chris: “LSU will remain unbeaten with an easy win over Georgia. As for the NFL, the cream is beginning to rise to the top. Look for the Steelers, Packers and Saints to win crucial games.”
