In an effort to capture the natural beauty of the region, The Pennsylvania Wilds Marketing Corporation announced the Pennsylvania Wilds Photo Contest. The contest will run through Oct. 31, 2012 and is open to both amateur and professionals.
The photos must be taken in the 12.5 county region of the Pennsylvania Wilds and can be submitted into six different categories including scenic, wildlife, outdoor recreation, events, our towns and professional. To enter, upload photos online.
“Visitors are continuously discovering new sights in the region and their photographs really bring the magic of the Pennsylvania Wilds to life,” says Dave Morris, President of the PA Wilds Marketing Corporation. “We thought this was an excellent way to showcase the region truly from our visitors’ point of view.”
One first place winner and runner-up will be chosen from each category. In addition, one grand prize winner will be chosen from the first place winner in each category. A panel of Pennsylvania Wilds artists and individuals involved in the arts will judge the photos.
Each winner will receive a prize package consisting of items from around the PA Wilds region ranging from overnight stays to admission tickets and more. Additionally, the winning photographs will be professionally printed, matted and framed for the winner’s reception to be held following the contest.
