HOUTZDALE — The Lady Tide volleyball team assured themselves of finishing the regular season with a winning record by besting the Mo Valley Damsels Wednesday night 23-25, 25-6, 25-21, 25-20.
With the win, Curwensville raises their record to 9-7 on the season with one match left before the District IX playoffs begin the week of October 31. The Lady Tide will host Brockway, a team that beat Curwensville 3-1 on the Lady Rovers’ home court earlier this season, on Thursday night.
After the first game loss on Wednesday night Lady Tide head coach Sandy Bailor felt her team played well, “We came out a little flat footed in the first set and Mo Valley took advantage of that; but the next three sets I felt we played well. We did experience some inconsistency tonight at times but the girls battled back and we got the win. We had another successful night at the service line which I am pleased with.”

As mentioned the Lady Tide has one final tune-up before “second season” begins. Bailor hopes that her team is ready, “We have Brockway next and we lost to them the first time, so with it being Senior Night and the fact that the girls want this match badly; I am hoping we will come out ready to play on all cylinders and have some momemtum going into the playoffs.”
The Lady Tide junior varsity lost to the Damsels in two sets to drop to .500 on the season at 8-8.
