CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced Clearfield County’s Fugitive of the Week for the week of Oct. 3, 2011.
Shaw identified the Fugitive as Brandon Ramos, age 24, of Philipsburg.
Shaw stated that Ramos is wanted for failure to appear at pretrial conferences on Sept. 29, 2011.
On March 22, 2011, Tpr. Mary McGinnis of the Pennsylvania State Police, Clearfield Barracks, filed a criminal complaint charging Ramos with receiving stolen property, M1.
An affidavit of probable cause filed by McGinnis states in November 2010 the Pennsylvania State Police began an investigation into the theft of copper piping and scrap metal from a private residence on Decatur Street in Philipsburg. Upon investigation, it was found that Ramos had received the stolen copper piping and other scrap metal, and that those items were valued at over $600.00. Ramos subsequently turned in the piping and scrap metal and received $134.90.
A preliminary hearing was scheduled for April 20, 2011, at which time all charges were held for court. On Sept. 29, 2011, Ramos failed to appear for pretrial conferences and a bench was issued for his arrest.
