- The investigation is ongoing into a burglary that reportedly occurred sometime between 5 p.m. Friday and 4:18 p.m. Monday in camps located along West Branch Lane in Jones Township, Elk County. A person(s) forced entry into camps and removed an air conditioning unit belonging to a known Ridgway man. At this time, it’s not known if any items were removed from a second camp owned by Wooster, OH man. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Ridgway-based state police at 814-776-6136.
- An incident of theft by unlawful taking reportedly occurred at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the Buffalo – Pittsburgh Railroad tracks south of Ketner Dam Road in Jones Township, Elk County. A person(s) removed 2,520 feet of single conductor, 6-guage copper wire. The stolen wire is valued at $5,040. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
- An incident of theft by unlawful taking reportedly occurred at 10:15 a.m. Monday at the Ketner Dam in Jones Township, Elk County. Two known suspects were stopped for trespassing on the Buffalo – Pittsburgh Railroad tracks in a motor vehicle. After being stopped, it was discovered that they’d stolen scrap metal from Pennsylvania Timber LP/Land Vest property. The stolen property value is estimated at $200. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
- An incident of theft reportedly occurred sometime between 5 p.m. Aug. 30 and 1 p.m. Monday in state game lands in Benezette Township, Elk County. A person(s) removed two trail cameras that belonged to a 59-year-old Clearfield man. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Ridgway-based state police at 814-776-6136.
