CURWENSVILLE – The Curwensville Lady Tide volleyball team played rude host to the visiting Brookville Lady Raiders by sweeping them by the scores of 25-12, 25-23, 25-21 to up their record to 1-1 on the season.
Head Coach Sandy Bailor had this to say about her team after the match,”Our first game was played very well, Madison and Olivia were getting the sets to our hitters, Katrina Seaburn, Savannah Strickland, Ricki Wells and Tierra Shope. Hannah Bressler did a great job at the libero position and I was very pleased with our serving. In the second game we didn’t play with the intensity that we did with the first game, and in the third game we picked it up again for the most part; but again we had times where we let down and weren’t playing our game. We are a little young and inexperienced at some of the positions; so we are going to have some mental mistakes, but I told the girls that we need to start a match on fire and end a match on fire as there is no time to let down or go away from our game.”
The Lady Tide also won the junior varsity game 2-1 by the scores of 14-25, 25-18, 15-10 to also even their record at 1-1.
Curwensville hosts Punxsutawney on Thursday, a match that coach Bailor was already looking forward to, “We have Punxy on Thursday. We need to step it up a notch and play the best volleyball we can to have a chance to beat them; they have a strong program and there is no time in that match to let down.”
